Make your practice countA short routine for your next session
G1 DRIVE STUDY SUGGESTIONS
  1. Try a short mixed set. Read all four choices before answering.
  2. Learn why. Read the explanation, even when you guessed correctly.
  3. Return to your mistakes. Retry them, then check the relevant handbook section.
  4. Turn signs into actions. Name the sign and say what you would do when you see it.
What comes after G1?Your next steps are road tests
  1. G1
Learn with a qualified accompanying driver.

After the knowledge and vision tests, practise under G1 conditions.

  2. G2
    Pass your first road test.

Normally after 12 months with G1, or 8 months after an approved beginner driver education course.

  3. G
    Pass the advanced road test.

You can take it after 12 months with G2.

G2 and G are driving tests, not another routine written test. These steps describe the usual first-time-driver pathway; exchanges and reinstatements can differ.
